“The Best of Both Worlds,” Nick Roberts will discuss two very different fishing options available within Argentina: technical spring creek fishing for trout in Patagonia and trophy golden dorado fishing in the jungle. Nick will cover travel, lodging, fly selection, and fishing strategies.

Nick Roberts serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications for Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, an international science-based conservation organization based in Miami, Florida. He is also the Editor of the Bonefish & Tarpon Journal and a freelance writer covering travel, fly fishing and conservation.

Nick grew up in North Carolina, where he earned a BA in English from Duke University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Before joining the BTT staff in the summer of 2016, Nick spent six years working as a fly fishing guide and freelance writer in Asheville, NC.

He has fished throughout the United States and in some of world’s premier fly fishing destinations, including Argentina, Chile, the Bahamas, Belize, Mexico, and Italy. He also hosts trips to Patagonia and the jungle of northern Argentina. His stories about his fly fishing travels have appeared in a number of publications, including The Drake, American Angler, Fly Rod & Reel, Fly Fish America, and Eastern Fly Fishing. His work has also appeared online at Field & Stream, Patagonia, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. Nick is based in Charleston, South Carolina.

Rob is a native Texan who grew up in middle Tennessee. He enjoys chasing any species of fish with a fly rod. His favorite species to target are big bream, earning him the title of bream bum. He has actually traveled over 1250 miles one-way to catch a species that only exists in a certain part of the country.
