Bio: Jeff Durniak holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee. He spent his 34-year professional career with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, first as its trout biologist for a decade and then as the north Georgia fisheries supervisor. In that role he supervised all state fisheries programs (and a highly motivated staff) from Atlanta north. He effectively partnered with numerous state and federal resource agencies, power companies, and non-government organizations. Jeff received Trout Unlimited’s National Conservation Professional award in 2006. 

He is a founding member and past President of the Rabun Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Jeff resides in White County and works part-time at his buddy’s fly shop, Unicoi Outfitters in Helen, GA. He writes the shop’s weekly fishing report at blog.angler.management.
