Topic: WRD’s response to the 2021 whirling disease outbreak in the Georgia trout hatchery system. Plus, resource-specific topics and Chattahoochee DH.

Hunter is a Senior Fisheries Biologist with Georgia DNR’s Wildlife Resources Division in Northeast Georgia (Region 2). I am primarily responsible for fisheries management on Lake Lanier, Nottely, Chatuge, and the Chattahoochee River. I have a B.S. and M.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia with a focus in fisheries management. I have worked on a variety of fisheries projects throughout my career, including sturgeon population research in coastal Georgia, creel surveys and human dimensions of fisheries research, river and reservoir fisheries management, tailwater trout management, and invasive species management. I live in Athens with my wife, Brittany; daughters, Tallulah and Paisley; and son, Marshall.
