Fletcher Sams – Jan 11th

Topic: Tying “Game Changers” – articulated baitfish imitations for shoal bass and other predatory fish.

Bio: Fletcher Sams, Altamaha Riverkeeper Executive Director, most recently worked with the international aid organization CARE USA where he served as the marketing and fundraising director for CARE’s most loyal supporters. Fletcher was born in Waycross, Georgia, and grew up fishing and hunting in the Altamaha watershed from Saint Simons Island all the way up to the Yellow River, and was raised with a passion for living a life of service to others. After studying Political Science at Presbyterian College, he joined the Army post September 11th and served as an infantryman with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during Operation Iraqi Freedom I. Upon returning from service, and finding dissatisfaction with both banking and defense contracting, Fletcher decided to pursue a career helping others. In 2009, he shifted to public sector campaign management on federal and statewide initiatives across the country. He is passionate about the environment and loves connecting supporters to the mission through data and the power of storytelling. In his spare time, you will find Fletcher either fly fishing for Redeye, Striper, and Shoalies, or spending time with his wife Melissa and their two young daughters Ada and Aubrey.

Robert (Rob) Prytula – July 12th

Topic: Fly Fishing for Bream

Rob is a native Texan who grew up in middle Tennessee. He enjoys chasing any species of fish with a fly rod. His favorite species to target are big bream, earning him the title of bream bum. He has actually traveled over 1250 miles one-way to catch a species that only exists in a certain part of the country.
