August 13th, at Manual’s Tavern at 7 PM •
Bio: Allen McGee is an innovative soft-hackle fly angler who has pursued trout all over North America and many other countries for 30 years. He is the author of three fly fishing books; has written many articles for the industry; and is a commercial fly designer. He is interested in creating new soft-hackled nymph, emerger, and dry fly patterns that combine the best of new with the best of the old. In this regard, he has a full range of trout flies that imitate all the life stages of all the important trout foods. Combined with the specific rigging and presentation methods for which he utilizes these flies, he renders prey behaviors that best imitate the naturals for the most selective trout.
Bonus: Allen will demonstrate how to tie a couple of soft-hackled flies and also his leader rigging method before the presentation. It will be an overview of his flies and presentation methods as well as many fishing stories about his travels.
